Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't you bill monthly?
This would increase your cost (and we hate sending bills). We aim to bring you web advertising at the lowest price, with the best service. One year of web and e-mail hosting with us is less than most other forms of advertising for one day.

I have an existing website, will you host it for me?
Yes! We will be happy to transfer your domain name and host your existing website. You may even qualify for a discount on your first year of hosting.

How do I determine my website's effectiveness?
We use WebLog Expert to generate reports from the log files. You can access your reports through any web browser. For an example report, click here.

Do you really make updates to my website for just the annual fee?
All websites require maintenance - changing pictures, highlighting new services, changing hours, maps, names, colors, etc. We regularly make updates to our customer's websites at no additional charge (we already included it in your annual fee). If the changes are too extensive, we'll provide you a quote prior to performing any work.

Where is your server located? Why there?
Our web server is located in Houston, Texas. The Planet provides exceptional communications connectivity and throughput, 24/7/365 monitoring, uninterruptible power supplies, generators, and security. All these functions are requirements for a commercial website -- your website -- and cannot be provided properly in a basement, backroom, attic, or garage. Your can read more about The Planet here.

Who owns the copyright to my website?
You do. We develop and host your website, but you retain the copyright. You can change web hosting companies at any time -- but with our great service, you won't want to.

How do I set up Outlook Express to check my e-mail?
Click here for more detailed Outlook Express Setup Instructions.

Can I check e-mail through a web browser?
Yes! We suggest using Mail2Web. If you are going to use Mail2Web regularly, we can create a free profile for you, so you won't have to type anything other than your password. For one time use, try the settings below...
    ServerName: mail.yourdomain.com
    UserID: you@yourdomain.com
    Password: Your password
    Mail Protocol: POP3
    Click Check Mail

How do I set up other e-mail programs?
Your POP3 and SMTP servers should point to mail.yourdomain.com. You will need to use your full e-mail address for the account name, i.e. you@yourdomain.com. You will need to select Outgoing Mail Server: My Server Requires Authentication.
